Relive Our 'Underneath’ Private View
We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone that attended last week's private view for ‘Underneath’, our long awaited all female group show and collaboration with women’s empowerment platform ArtLeadHER.

The evening saw a huge turnout at our New Compton Street space to experience the diverse selection of works on display, with art fans, followers, collectors, friends of the gallery and even a few celebrity faces stopping by to enjoy the show.
The exhibition has been exclusively curated by Mashonda Tifrere, founder of ArtLeadHER, which is an organisation dedicated to empowering and celebrating women in art. Joining artists from our gallery roster including Lucy Sparrow, Zoe Grace and Teresa Duck were eight international contemporary female artists at various stages of their careers.
Tifrere explains, “After collecting art for 15 years, my enthusiasm for bringing women's work into the forefront of the art world became a priority. The development of ArtLeadHER over the last year has provided female artists with a safe haven to be completely expressive in an open environment and gain the recognition they deserve.”
The exhibition also serves to introduce our audience to many new artists with Abi Whitlock, Delphine Diallo, Elizabeth Waggett, Juliette Clovis, Kit King, Meredith Marsone, Swoon and Ingrid Baars all showing new work as part of 'Underneath'. We will be working closely alongside many of these names in the future, so it was a pleasure to host them for the first time at Lawrence Alkin Gallery.

If you couldn’t make it down to our private view fear not as you have until 6th May to catch the show. We will also be publishing interviews with Mashonda and several of the exhibiting artists, so watch this space to find out more information regarding ‘Underneath’ and our exciting collaboration with ArtLeadHer.
