Our Summer Group Exhibition MIX Is Now Open

The summer instalment of our bi-annual group show MIX is now open to the public following last Thursday’s private view.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all that attended the private view of what is our biggest and best summer exhibition ever. It was also fantastic to see so many artists we have collaborated with in one place, enjoying and appreciating each other's work.

MIX presents a panorama of artworks from across our gallery roster, presenting a diverse cross-section of art being made today. The show features a variety of media from 3D and textile sculptures, to oil painting, printmaking, neon and collage.

MIX also introduces several new artists to the gallery who we are excited to work with more closely in the future.

Upon entering the gallery visitors are met with one of Harland Miller’s colossal silkscreen editions, the ode to self-love ‘I Am The One I’ve Been Waiting For’. Miller is currently exhibition his latest body of work ‘One Bar Electric Memoir’ at London’s White Cube gallery and we are very pleased to showcase this iconic print from the artist.

We have another enormous work upstairs in our gallery by artist Dean Fox who we are thrilled to be working with again. Fox creates dramatic compositions, which merge traditional painterly techniques with contemporary subject matter. Complementing Fox’s huge horse is a new heartfelt neon from the purveyor of positivity, Zoe Grace.

It's marvellous to also have a new original Tondo piece from conceptual collage artist Nick Smith, whose exhibition ‘Parlance’ earlier in 2017 was the artist’s third sell out in three years.

There is also a breathtaking new ‘Apex’ canvas from esteemed painting Dave White. White has masterfully captured the elegance and ferocity of the great white shark.

On the stairs to the basement visitors are met with new original works by street art duo STATIC and vintage collage artist William Blanchard.

Meanwhile, downstairs in our gallery is a cornucopia of diverse artwork, merging works from artists on our gallery roster with debut pieces from several newcomers including Renee Snelson and Euan Roberts, who we will be featuring on these pages very soon. Also featuring downstairs are artists including Miss Bugs, Ryan Callanan and Lucy Sparrow, amongst other.

Now is the time to visit Lawrence Alkin Gallery to experience the breadth of talent on display in MIX.
